La Tienda

Marketing & Data Analysis Internship

Location: Greater Williamsburg Area

Dates: May 2025- August 2025

During my internship with La Tienda, I combined analytical thinking with creative strategy to improve retail performance, strengthen marketing efforts, and elevate the in-store experience.

My work spanned from data-driven insights to visual merchandising, allowing me to contribute meaningfully to both operations and brand presentation.

Key Contributions & Skills:

  • Data Analysis: Used Excel and Square POS to analyze sales data, track performance, and identify product trends.

  • Inventory Management: Conducted a complete retail store inventory, cataloging 500+ products and verifying SKU accuracy, pricing, and GTIN data.

  • Visual Merchandising: Designed and implemented an interior layout refresh to optimize flow, organization, and visual appeal (see before-and-after visuals to the right).

  • Marketing Campaigns: Developed and launched a Memorial Day Sale campaign using Canva for graphics and Square POS for promotions.

  • Print & Digital Integration: Created QR codes and advertised Tienda’s magazines and pamphlets in-store that connected retail and restaurant customers to the business’s website — encouraging digital engagement from in-person visitors.

  • Creative Collaboration: Partnered with management on brand presentation and in-store design choices to enhance customer experience.

  • Cultural Branding: Ensured that every design and display decision reflected the store’s Spanish roots and authentic sense of representation.
